Good product. Does what it says. Bought on spur of moment when in to buy other items and glad I did.

I bought a set of these drills for drilling prior to securing timber battens and studs to masonry using expanding frame fixings. I hoped they'd cut through the timber and masonry in one operation.
I used a 250 x 8mm bit in a percussion drill and found that the bit would not cut wood after it had cut masonry and had to revert to two operations by using a wood drill followed by the multipurpose drill which remained able to cut masonry.
My guess is that the bit lost its temper as it got hot when applied to the masonry and it was dulled quickly.
I'll keep the bits for masonry but I don't recommend for wood.
I also tried a smaller 5mm bit to drill out some stubborn steel bolts. It cut but was slow compared with a cobalt drill.
A jack of all trades but a master of none I'm afraid. This is a shame since its a promising idea.

I don't what this is like in other materials but in wood it is brilliant.
I bought it to makes holes for coach bolts through 4" uprights and 2" crossmembers. The phrase 'like a knife through butter' seems appropriate. It didn't clog or jam and made the holes in seconds using an 18v cordless drill.

Really do what they say on the tin. Great for drilling tiles, no sliding about, great for use with hammer fixings - straight through the timber into the wall, will drill a lot of masonry without hammer action. Don't use much else lately.
