Bosch GHO 26-82 2.6mm Planer 240V
This has been a great buy, being a joiner doing mainly finishing work I couldnt ask for any more. Comes in sturdy kit box, left /right chip ejection, dust bag, parking stand and a decent length of flex fitted. Flex is rubberised not that plastic type that splits after six months. Added bonus only uses single blade. Excellent. Keep it up bosch.

Makes planing easy
I really like this tool . The dust extraction works well with my old GAS 25 extractor . This is the 1st electric planer I have owned ,so I cannot say much as nothing to compare it to . I feel the right angle guide could be better though , as It only covers the bit of the blade you are not using when it is fitted to the left side of the tool . . . Could be sturdier too given this is a proffesional tool Overall a good tool though which I would not be without , the depth of cut seems accurate which takes some of the guess work out of the job in hand . Mine was made in Malaysia .
Too early to review relability , but it's worked faultlessly in the 3 weeks i have had it .

Delivered next day as usual, this planer is exceptional, really good build quality three bevel grooves, and really sturdy as you would expect from Bosch without being too heavy to use with one hand. I think Bosch used to be considered the DIYers choice but its now up there with Dewalt and Makita but without the hefty price tag.
Nice big solid carry box and spare blade, also can be used with bag (provided ) or extract system. Best power tool i have bought recently. :))

awkward to use
The park rest gets in the way so i took mine off. This plane is not as easy to use one handed as my old one,it always takes a small chunk out of the end of the workpiece no matter how careful i am to hold it flat, and i am a carpenter with over 30 years experience. On the positive side it eats timber and only needs one blade but be careful mine takes off 4mm when it says 2.6.
