I ordered this item on Friday, picked it up on Saturday. It was easy to set up and get into action. We felled a large cypress tree, the trunk and branches we chain sawed Into logs, the rest was munched up with ease by this shredder. It worked all weekend almost without a hitch. One jam, all our own fault, was easily cleared by the reverse action. It's quiet too, no disturbing the neighbours with this machine. Created a good heap of mulch that we will spread around the garden. Fantastic, buy it!

Rated 4 out of 5 Not bad at all
This machine has worked very well for me. Correctly adjusted, it makes short work of the huge amount of branches and leaves from a massive laurel bush. Correct adjustment is essential, or it won't chop branches right through. There is a minor issue that vibration causes the catcher to come adrift and cause the machine to shut-off; but this is a minor annoyance and easily fixed with an elastic hook. I would recommend this machine, but it is really a domestic machine, not for use day in and day out.

Just noticed a few bad reviews on here so, as I'm very happy with mine and have had no problems, thought I'd try to redress the balance.
I had a few very large (5m) trees to remove so bought one of these to take care of all the small branches too small for the log burner. OK it took a long time to feed everything thorough it but it's taken everything I can throw at it so far. Doesn't like really small stuff as that tends to clog it a bit so you need to mix what you feed it.
Bought a spare set of blades when I bought it as thought I'd need them but original blades still going strong.
Be careful pushing the red plastic pusher in though as the machine eats the end of it if it's not straight. :-)

I purchased one of these machines earlier this year - very heavy and substantial - just what was required for hard work in my garden? After a good start, the machine stopped -due to the basket vibrating away from a sensor in the machine body so the machine cut out- as designed - this became a feature to be watched for- the machine refused to restart, after emptying a basket-never to restart- nothing jamming it -? some electical jinx. Checked all supplies fuses and trips -no reset on machine without removing covers. Replaced shredder with same model. Went well for 20 minutes then when smaller stuff was not being cut- reversed the rotor direction to clear -as instructed in handbook manual- machine refused to run forward - nothing jamming the rotor!? another electical jinx - Is Bosch not a major electrical manufacturer? What can one say !!- to put the lid on it, the retail supplier had ceased to stock the machine as "the season" for this type of equipment was now over!
I made a mistake of buying "the brand"-clearly should have done some research with screwfix first.
