Made of plastic & melted within 10 minutes of use then sanding pads would not stick to it.

The Bosch multi tool is excellent as are most of the Bosch made attachments. This sanding plate is the one of the few accessories that is poorly made along with the brown sanding pads also made by Bosch (the Bosch aluminium oxide type pads are excellent by the way). Not only does the plate wear out quickly ie the plastic grip hooks go smooth, the fluffy side of the pads often wears quickly enough for the pad to lose its grip even if the plate is new, and they move or fall off mid sanding which means you end up briefly sanding with part of the plate causing damage to it, and the surface you are sanding. This happens well before the gritty side had worn out. I bought the Saxton plate, which looks ok, but is a lot smaller than the Bosch plate, with tha advantage of getting into smaller spaces, but disadvantaged by the fact that the Bosch pads are way too big. Bosch need to sort this out as it limits the effectiveness/versatility of a well crafted piece of machinery.

The plastic on the head is too soft. This is my 3rd one now and really, for the amount of use it's had it should be my 1st

The 93mm sanding plate is a disgrace. It does not grip the sanding sheets properly even from new. The problem is not Bosch's (expensive) abrasive sheets, rather the unsuccessful surface of the sanding plate. The latter is not fit for purpose. Avoid buying this item.
