Ignore these bad reviews with regard to the chain tensioning, it's not the saw its the instructions and the users out there not working it out! The instructions are rubbish but thats Bosch. Just look it up on youpube instead.
If want the peace of mind of a good build, reliable brand, easy to use tool get this. It belted through everything I put it's way taking on trees and logs with ease.
Maybe not a pro tool but for the DIY and keen Gardener this is great.

Ideal for occasional DIY use. I've had my 40cm bosch chain saw for nearly two years now. Chain initially a bit fiddly to set up and needed retightening after a couple of minutes but has retained tension now for over a year including felling several 30 year old 30-40 foot high leylandii! Even so the retensioning dial needs no tools and is easy to use- the instructions are on the blade guard in case you forget! Goes through softwood like a knife through butter. A reciprocating demolition professional saw with a green wood/ roots blade is positively pedestrian in comparison and I usually give up and go and get the trusty bosch chain saw out to finish the job in seconds. Do not know how it would stand up to daily use but It isn't supposed to be a professional product. Purchased to replace the one I had for about ten years before the mice ate it to get at the vegetable based lubricating oil, not much casing was left in several critical places, now I don't keep this one in the shed!

Assembly was straight forward.
Ensure you purchase a bottle of chain oil with the saw. You get one little tube with the saw which is not enough to do any work.
Chain tightening mechanism is straight forward. I like the system. After the first few cuts I had to tighten the chain. I tightened if once more. No problems with the chain coming off.
So keep an eye on the chain oil and chain tension and the saw works very well. I was a surprised by the good performance.
I have gone through some 12" plus logs, softwood, without any problems. I have also ripped a log in half. Again not a problem for the saw.
Can't comment on the long term but working well for me for bucking up softwood logs for the wood stove.
The only issue is the window for the chain oil which is not all that big. I wiggle the saw to see what the oil level is. So features rating is 4 rather than 5, maybe a bit harsh.

"Buy Bosch......because they're reliable & of quality". Nope. The saw requires unnecessarily complicated assembly, and after literally two minutes of initial use, the chain became loose, and the tightening mechanism fell apart. Without doubt, the worst product Bosch have EVER produced. Buy a different make. I'm going to !!
