I bought this trimmer to replace one that had died. Owing to bad weather I have only been able to cut 10 mtr (both sides) of my total of about 40 mtr 6 ft tall hedge. It was like cutting butter with a hot knife, brilliant!
My hedge is a mature beech (40 or 50 years old) and it cut through 3/4inch branches effortlessly. Took about half the time that it previously took.
Unfortunately, the only drawback, I still have to pick up the cuttings!!!
Unable to comment on reliability as I've only had it a few days.

The Bosch AHS 70 - 34 and the AHS 65 - 34 are the 2 no top hedgetrimmers recommended by the consumer magazine WHICH ?, combined with the comments of previous reviewers, convinced me to buy the AHS 65-34.
I have mature Beech, Hawthorn and Conifer hedges with a total length of 160m and I have just cut the 60m of 3m high Conifer.
You have to use this machine to believe that the previous reviewers were not exaggerating and unlike other hedgetrimmers, you can buy a spare/replacement blade.

I have 60 meters of farmerâs adjacent hawthorn hedge to trim 3 to 4 times every summer. Previously I have used a combination of long handle shears, secateurs, underrated battery trimmers and pruning poles. This took almost a day of blood, sweat and toil. Having hit 65 I decided to spend a bit more than usual and acquired this Bosch AHS 65-34 65cm 700W Electric Hedge Trimmer 240V.
Wow! It is great. ! One dayâs job done in one hour. Remarkably light, little or no vibration and well balanced. Tackles thick branches like a âa hot knife through butterâ. Handy side grips for sideward cutting. I never felt fatigued during usage.
I cannot recommend this Bosch produce enough. Should come with a government health warning for hawthorn hedges.

I bought this to replace my previous B&D hedge trimmer. It is good quality and powerful. The only criticism I have is the instructions which could be better. I use it to cut an ivy hedge and several fir trees. It copes well. I require a mains tool as I only trim items once per year. I feared that a battery would not last if left idle for 11 months. I marked reliability as good because I have only had the tool for a few days. Ask me the same question in two years time.
