Fitted lots of these. They go up easily and quickly, connection is a breeze and they always work. There are no adjustments to faff around with which to me is a great feature.

As most of the trade reviewers have said this is a simple, does what it does, exterior lantern. I brought three to replace three varying style, rusted metal rubbish ones No chance of metal rot with these plastic and polycarb versions. I liked the back plate feature which allows for fixing and wiring and then plugging in the lantern. Very easy to wire and fix. Not sure why one of the DIY reviewers found the wiring instructions complicated. Live, neutral, earth is about a simple as it gets when connecting a cable! Also to be expected there are some cuts out to do depending on how the cable enters the unit. This isn't a fault in my opinion just common sense.

Initial impression is it's cheap plastic, very light, flimsy and overpriced;but it grows on you, it wont rust, is a doddle to fit and when installed looks the part.
But like most things the difference between mediocre and great is just 10% in the detail, there's a recess cut in the backplate for the cable to enter, but not a corresponding one in the cover so it wont sit flush to the wall without butchery, if the cable is fed from the bottom recess it routes immediately behind the fixing screw holes inviting you to drill through the cable, the instructions say weatherproof the lantern with silicon sealant which if it was made properly would not be needed., time will tell how it stands the weather!
