Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good & Bad A very useful item if your kitchen is a long way from the hot water cylinder. It's easy to fit and works well, but:-..... It's not as cheap as it looks, because you may need an expansion vessel and pressure reducing valve which together cost more than the heater! As others have said, installation also requires two rubber washers, which aren't supplied and which Screwfix doesn't sell except as part of a huge box of washers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spolit the ship for a ha'pence Ok as it goes for a water heater. It is unvented so need extra parts. Comes with pressure releif valve, but that needs fittings (has 1/2" BSP female threads). Most annoying is that the instructions refer to using sealing washers on the plastic fittings and they don't supply them, total pain. Really needed rubber ones but there were none so I made do with some red fibre ones nicked from tap connectors I had, a real pain as 2 rubber washers cost pence. Also there is a base for the cord grip but no screws or cord grip. Why no cord grip? It was all fully boxed and sealed up in celophane inside so it had not been messed with. Spolit the ship for a ha'pence of tar!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value water heater This is the third one of these I have bought. Great for studio flats to supply hot water to kitchen tap and toilt basin tap. Easy to install, so my plumber says and fits handily under the sink. They last a couple of years, but are easily and cheaply replaced.

Will this be suitable to run the shower

Presure relief valve

Does the Presure relief valve need to be fitted up right or can it be fitted side ways. I.e. can a horizontal pipe be connected to inlet side and discharge pipe side go downwards? Thank you, Mike.
Asked by: Mike12345678
Either way should be fine

Testing Presure Relief valve

How can I test if the Presure Relief valve pipe work is water tight please? The heater is going to be installed inside kitchen units, and the last thing we want is damage to the kitchen units if the pipe work from Presure Relief valve leakes.
Asked by: Mike12345678
Temporarily seal the end of the discharge pipe and then manually operate the pressure relief valve. This should reveal any leaks.

Ariston Water Heater - leaking

Had an Ariston under the sink electric water heater fitted over three years ago. It started leaking from the pressure valve. Replaced that last weekend, but it is still leaking. Any suggestions what is wrong?
Asked by: JBroders
This shows that the pressure relief valve is doing it's job and that the incoming cold water pressure is too high. Check if the water pressure reducer (which should be fitted) has either failed or is wrongly adjusted. (If adjustable).
