Electric showers are one of the most popular types of shower. These showers are especially useful if you do not have a hot water supply, or in houses where there is a large demand for the shower. Every electric shower heats its own water, meaning you can have a hot shower whenever you want!
There are many types of electric showers available. If you have had an electric shower previously and you want another electric shower, it is a good idea to purchase a new one that will retro-fit the old one – have the same water and cable positioning points.
Mixer showers are divided into 2 main types – thermostatic mixer showers and manual mixer showers:
- Thermostatic mixer showers have one major benefit...each thermostatic mixer shower balances the hot and cold water intake automatically, so that even if there are fluctuations in water pressure, these showers maintain temperature at all times, so your shower won’t run hot and cold! Unlike electric showers, these showers require both a hot and cold water supply.
- Manual mixer showers also require both hot and cold water supply, but the major difference with these is that in order to maintain a consistent water temperature, the user has to do this manually.
Power showers give an invigorating shower experience and are great for use in areas susceptible to low water pressure. The cost of a power shower can be more than other types, but the experience of being in a power shower is worth the extra spend!
The term thermostatic shower can be used in relation to any shower that automatically maintains a constant water temperature. For example, thermostatic mixer showers, thermostatic power showers and thermostatic electric showers.
