Cancellations, returns and refunds

Screwfix is committed to bringing you the best quality products at great prices. However, we also know that once in a while you may need to cancel an order or return an item. To ensure we can make this as easy as possible, please ensure you hold onto your receipt and any packaging with the item you bought. All refunds will normally to be made to the same method of payment as your purchase. This policy does not affect your statutory or distance selling rights.

30 Day Money Back Guarantee
  • Most of the products we sell are covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee and returns within this period are free.
  • You can return items to a Screwfix branch (see www.screwfix.com/branches to find your nearest branch) or via freepost at a post office or contact us to organise a carrier pick-up for a full refund or replacement. Click here for the forms.
  • Return your items unused, with their original packaging, in a saleable condition, together with the receipt and your completed returns form.
  • 'Big Stuff' items can only be returned via carrier collection. There may be a charge for collection, you will be advised at time of call.
  • There are some items that are excluded from the 30-day money back guarantee for either hygiene or safety reasons (for example macerators and water pumps). These items are clearly marked with a [#] in the catalogue and on the website.
  • Please ensure that any sharp objects are suitably wrapped to ensure safe handling and that items are packed to protect them in transit.
  • Please ensure that any petrol products are fully drained of both oil and petrol prior to return or the item may be refused.
  • Our 30-day money-back guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.
Cancellations
  • A cancellation can be made up to 30 days from point of order via phone, email (returns@screwfix.com), mail (Screwfix Returns, Trade House, Houndstone Business Park, Yeovil BA22 8RT) or in person at a branch (see www.screwfix.com/branches to find your nearest branch).
  • On cancellation you must return the goods to us at your cost in saleable condition unless we agree that you may dispose of them (please ensure you follow the manufacturer's instructions before disposing of hazardous goods).
Faulty products
  • Return the item to us within 30 days of purchase with your receipt and completed returns form for a full refund. For items that are excluded from the 30-day money back guarantee, please contact our customer services team on 0800 0680 484.
  • If you have had the item from 31 days up to 1 year and it develops a fault please call our customer services team on 0800 0680 484 or visit your local branch

How to Return

For your convenience there are 3 options to return an item:

1. Return to a SCREWFIX BRANCH:

Please present the item you are returning in its original packaging, along with your proof of purchase and completed returns form to the service desk at your local branch. A refund will be actioned or a replacement arranged.

2. Return by FREEPOST:

Please package your item securely and include proof of purchase information and your completed customer returns form. Attach the Freepost Returns Label and take the package to your local Post Office. Please ensure you obtain a Proof of Return Stamp which may be required should there be a problem with your return. Your refund / replacement will be actioned on receipt of your return at our Returns Processing Centre.
Restricted to items less than 1m in length and less than 2kg in weight

3. Return by CARRIER COLLECTION:

Please call us on 0500 41 41 41 or email online@screwfix.com to arrange a Carrier Collection where we can arrange a day suitable to you for a carrier to collect your item. We will then despatch a replacement from our Distribution Centre or action a refund on receipt of your return at our Returns Processing Centre. Please package your item securely and include proof of purchase information and your completed Customer Returns Form. The collection may take place at any time between 8.00am and 6.00pm. Someone will be required at the address to hand over the item and sign for the return.
